Event time to local time
Event pages usually announce one timezone because the organizer has to pick something. That is fine until the event is near midnight for me.
I check the event time in ToLocalTime before I add it to my calendar or share it with someone else.
Examples to try
Check the date before the time
A midnight launch in one timezone is often yesterday or tomorrow somewhere else. I set the date first, then convert the phrase.
Calendar previews make the day too easy to miss. The day label in ToLocalTime is there because the day is often the real answer.
Share a local answer
When I forward an event to someone, I include the local time instead of just the original announcement text.
It prevents the "I thought that was tomorrow" mistake. Nothing fancy.
Quick answers
How do I convert an event time to local time?
Type the event time exactly as written, such as "midnight PT", "2pm JST", or "8pm UTC". Set the event date first if it is not today.
Why does the converted event show tomorrow or yesterday?
The event crossed midnight between timezones. That is the part I check before adding anything to my calendar.
