Meeting time to local time
Meeting links are fine after they are in the calendar. The annoying part is the sentence before the link: "3pm PT works for me" or "Can you do 10am Singapore?"
I use ToLocalTime before I reply. Paste the phrase, check the date, then answer with the local time.
Examples to try
How I check it
I paste the meeting phrase into the converter first. If the meeting is not today, I set the date before I trust the answer.
The date is the part people miss. A late Pacific call or early Asia call can be tomorrow for me, and that is how calendar mistakes happen.
What I send back
I usually reply with both times: "3pm PT is 6am for me tomorrow." That keeps the original context and gives me the answer I need.
For recurring meetings, I still put the final time into a calendar. ToLocalTime is for the decision before the invite exists.
Quick answers
How do I convert a meeting time to my local time?
Paste the meeting phrase into ToLocalTime. Something like "3pm PT" or "10am Singapore" is enough. Set the date if the meeting is not today.
Should I use a city or a timezone abbreviation?
Use the city when you have it. Abbreviations are short, but some of them mean different things in different places.
